To acquire, manage, and protect land that supports sensitive habitats and species. SDHC is one of only a few nonprofit habitat managers working with developers, municipalities, and agencies throughout the region to strike a critical balance between development and the protection of our valuable habitat. Whether you are looking to gain experience in environmental conservation, give back to your community, or simply learn about local wildlife and plant species, volunteer with SDHC! Help protect San Diego's natural ecosystems by getting involved one of the ways below. We are happy to work with you to find a volunteer position that fits your experience and goals. Volunteers often assist with activities at one of our many preserves, such as removal of trash and nonnative plants, planting native species, repairing preserve signs and fencing. Or simply accompany us on a monitoring visit to learn about San Diego's local ecosystems. Volunteers that join us in the field learn how to identify native plant species and communities, local birds, mammals, reptiles, and invertebrate, invasive plant species and treatment methods, and other conservation practices. If you want to apply as a volunteer, please, go to page https://www.sdhabitat.org/volunteer.html Our website is https://www.sdhabitat.org/, contact email is SDHC@sdhabitat.org, contact phone is (619) 365-4839
