To build and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the biggest possible futures for Coachella Valley youth. At Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert we know that "Little moments can create Big magic" in a child's life! Research shows us the powerful, positive, lasting impact that mentoring can have: Our ​Littles are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, and more likely to get along with their family members and peers. Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable things you will ever do. Spend a few hours a few times a month as a mentor to a child and you can make a BIG impact in that child’s life. ​How It Works Depending on the program you're in, you may meet your Little in the community, connect via ZOOM, or at one of our site-based programs in Cathedral City, Coachella, Indio, La Quinta or Mecca. Littles come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some are really little (as young as six) and some are teenagers. Some may live on your block and some a few miles away. What do they all have in common? They need you!
