Washington Ave Park
This beautiful open-air park was created for residents to enjoy year-round. Washington Avenue Park is the sixth passive park in the Second Supervisorial District. The park has an exciting splash pad surrounded by recycled plastic chairs, solar light fixtures, and two playgrounds for kids, ages 0 to 5. It also has restrooms, adult fitness equipment, walking path and an open lawn area.
Volunteer With Us!
The Department of Parks and Recreation has many different volunteer programs and opportunities for your participation.
Many of our community parks have volunteer opportunities in areas such as athletic programs, after school programs, tiny tot programs and general park operations.
Our Regional Park Facilities have more specialized volunteer programs that range from docents at our nature centers and botanic gardens, mounted assistance units for our equestrian trails, and guides for our many school tours.
To find out more information about volunteer opportunities, it is important that you contact the facility of your choice directly. They will be able to provide you with information, answering questions you may have and discuss the application process for becoming a volunteer.
You don’t need any special leadership training to get involved—just a passion for helping others. Get started with our council now!
