Our mission to care for all animals is made possible by friends like you.
Established in 1949, the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is a private, non-profit, full-access animal shelter dedicated to providing a safe refuge for animals in our community. Every day our dedicated staff ensures that every animal receives food, veterinary care and the attention they need until they can find a forever home. The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA is a private, 501c3 nonprofit organization and is supported by contributions, grants, bequests, proceeds from pet adoptions, pet licensing and fees for services.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
ADOPTION AMBASSADOR
Goal of position: to find forever homes for our shelter animals that are a good match for both the animals and the potential adopters
Duties
help place animals into permanent homes, loving and responsible homes
show animals to potential adopters
assist the public in selecting a companion animal
communicate and provide assistance to Adoption Counselors

DOG WALKING & ENRICHMENT
Goal of position: to provide an outlet for dogs to de-stress and engage in behaviors that promote well-being

walk & socialize adoptable dogs
provide bathroom relief for adoptable dogs

CAT & RABBIT CARE
Goal of position: to stimulate the animals through sights, sounds and smells while in their kennels

prepare, distribute and clean various enrichment items
documents interactions with each animal

Goal of position: provide assistance to various departments for the following duties

HEALTH CARE CENTER
Goal of position: provide assistance to veterinarians, technicians and animal patients in the clinic
Duties
fold & wrap surgical gowns and drapes
clean & sterilize surgical areas, instruments and equipment
clean animal kennels in health care center
help receptionists discharge animals back to their guardians
clean & fold laundry
help recovering animals after anesthesia
make cones for animal patients post-surgery

Goal of position: to capture creative and high quality photographs of adoptable animals to improve website media for the lost & stray animals within our care
