Due Date: 2026-09-24T21:00:00.000Z
We work in partnership with people in need to improve their poor living conditions. Habitat challenges people of compassion to provide initial capital, through gifts and low interest loans, to build or renovate simple, decent homes for the inadequately sheltered. Construction is a cooperative venture between volunteers and homebuyers. Habitat partner families contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” towards the building of their home as well as the homes of others. Habitat houses are sold for no profit, with a non-interest mortgage, repaid over a 30 to 45 year period. House payments are recycled to build more homes for those in need. Choose from opportunities such as: 1. Volunteering on the build site is a fun, hands-on opportunity to build homes alongside future Habitat homeowners. No experience is required! 2. ReStore support. Build a home without even picking up a hammer! Our ReStores generate funding in support of the Habitat mission, and they are run with the help of volunteers. 3. No hardhat required. Offer behind-the-scenes assistance with everything from fundraising and event planning to volunteer coordination, advocacy, and office support. If you want to apply as a volunteer, please, go to page https://www.sandiegohabitat.org/get-involved/volunteer/ Our website is https://www.sandiegohabitat.org/, email is volunteerservices@sandiegohabitat.org, contact phone is (619) 283-HOME (4663) x301
