Volunteers prepared and delivered meals to residents in southern Stanislaus County United Samaritans Foundation’s mission to “Feed the Hungry” began in 1994 as a volunteer effort. Born from the Christian spirit of giving comfort to those in need, volunteers prepared and delivered meals to residents in southern Stanislaus County. Just three years earlier, volunteers at Sacred Heart Church, in Turlock, had begun a similar food program, Daily Bread Ministry. These programs supplemented and complimented each other, reaching needy persons in Turlock and surrounding communities. Realizing the common effort and goal, the two volunteer groups merged.
