The Department of Parks and Recreation has many different volunteer programs and opportunities for your participation. Many of our community parks have volunteer opportunities in areas such as athletic programs, after school programs, tiny tot programs and general park operations. Our Regional Park Facilities have more specialized volunteer programs that range from docents at our nature centers and botanic gardens, mounted assistance units for our equestrian trails, and guides for our many school tours. To find out more information about volunteer opportunities, it is important that you contact the facility of your choice directly. They will be able to provide you with information, answering questions you may have and discuss the application process for becoming a volunteer. You don’t need any special leadership training to get involved—just a passion for helping others. Get started with our council now!
