Tri City Ecology Center
TCEC has led the local environmental movement since 1971, when it established a local recycling center and launched the Eco-Logic newsletter.
Since then, TCEC, a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, has addressed additional environmental needs of the community with timely projects and donations.
Support of public transit and bicycle/pedestrian access
Education encouraging water and energy conservation
Improved Bay water quality via better sewage treatment
Spearheading of the successful 1981 Fremont Hill Initiative and supporting the 2002 Hill Initiative
Protection of Tri-City wetlands and watersheds
Expansion of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife
Program for household toxic wastes disposal
Advocacy for recycling and composting
...etc.
