Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast
Our mission is to establish and support one-on-one mentoring relationships that help youth reach their highest potential. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we believe that "small moments can spark big joy" in a child's life! Research consistently shows the profound and lasting impact of mentoring: our Littles are 52% less likely to miss school, 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs, and more likely to maintain strong relationships with their families and peers.
Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. By dedicating a few hours a few times a month to mentoring, you can make a BIG difference in a child's life.
How It Works:
Depending on your program, you may meet your Little in the community, online via ZOOM, or through one of our site-based programs. Littles come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from very young children (as young as six) to teenagers. Whether they live nearby or a bit further away, they all share a common need: your guidance!
What's Needed From You:
Submit an application
Provide three references
Attend an in-person interview
Complete a background check (for adult volunteers)
