Transition Habitat Conservancy
Protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Transition Habitat Conservancy is pleased to announce it is applying for renewal of accreditation. A public comment period is now open.
HOW IT STARTED
In 2005, three women living in Pinon Hills, California were discussing their community's wonderful natural area where they enjoyed riding and hiking . They became concerned that ongoing development would soon destroy this jewel, and decided to unite and preserve this unique pinyon-juniper and Joshua tree woodland open space. As a result of their dedication and the community's desire to create nature parks and preserve open space, Transition Habitat Conservancy began. Since then, we have established multiple project areas within San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties, and have worked diligently to protect and improve habitat in the West Mojave.
