Volunteer Advisory Board Member About this Position Job description Relief, Inc. Modesto is developing an Advisory Board. We are looking for like-minded individuals who want to help people experiencing extreme poverty both locally and internationally. Our ultimate goal is to make the people we serve self-sufficient through our unique programs. As far as our international efforts in Liberia West Africa, it is a post-war country with 85% of its citizens living in extreme poverty. We operate throughout Liberia and have partnered with several schools since 2006. We have also collaborated with two other nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) since 2013. In Northern California, we have several partners and supporters who have helped us complete several local projects. We are establishing the Advisory Board to help drive awareness and financial support for the programs we support. We recently shipped a 40 foot container of humanitarian supplies to Liberia, West Africa; we also recently gave away Healthy Valentine Baskets to 383 local deserving students in Modesto, California. Relief Inc.’s 13-year history has been full of many successful humanitarian projects that we would like to continue, which have been done on a shoestring budget. The Board currenly has five members. We like to increase the Advisory Board to nine active community and business leaders.
