Museum Docent Volunteer
The Newport Beach Historical Society (NBHS) volunteer serves as a knowledgeable museum guide. You will help visitors engage with the rich history of Newport Beach. We will provide the training once you’re approved by the board. Thank you for your interest in supporting our community by becoming a volunteer to support our 501c3 non-profit. Key Responsibilities: Welcome Visitors: Sharing historical insights, answering questions, and providing context about artifacts, photographs, and documents. Supporting Events: Assisting with lectures, exhibitions, and special programs hosted by NBHS. Preserving Local History: Helping with archival work, cataloging artifacts, or engaging in research to enhance historical narratives. Qualifications & Skills: A passion for local history and storytelling. Ability to engage with diverse audiences, including students, tourists, and history enthusiasts. Willingness to receive training on Newport Beach’s historical significance and exhibit content. Time Commitment & Benefits: Volunteer position with flexible hours.
