To preserve and enhance Walnut Creek's 2700 acres of open space and to educate area residents so that they can enjoy this wonderful resource. Our primary activity is doing habitat restoration in the Walnut Creek Open Space. We have ongoing projects at Bayberry Pond, Rock Oak, Indian Valley Pond, Deer Lake, and Fossil Hill. We do occasional work in other locations in the Open Space. We also have a native plant nursery where we propagate many of the plants we use in our restoration projects. When opportunities arise, we work to acquire additional open space lands. We are always looking for interested volunteers. NO SPECIAL SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
