True Colors Career Exploration Activity with 9th Graders @ Chaffey High School
Want to help students reach their dream careers? Feel comfortable talking with high school students? If so, consider becoming a True Colors Activity Volunteer with Promise Scholars! Promise Scholars is looking for enthusiastic individuals to help lead discussions with high school freshmen regarding the students’ personality strengths and career interests. Promise Scholars serves all Chaffey, Ontario, and Montclair High Schools' students, a population in which over 90% of our students will be the first in their families to go to college, develop a college/career plan, and develop aspirations for the future. Volunteers like you are integral to helping set students up for success! In particular, volunteers will be asked to: Guide a group of 5 -7 high school freshmen through a set of discussion questions regarding personality and career interests Be able to share information about their own college and career pathways Be able to commit to volunteer between the hours of 9:00 am - 2:30 pm on the day of the True Colors Activity Event. We have the following shifts available. Please pick any and all that fit in your schedule! 9:30 am-10:30 am 10:30 am-11:30 pm 1:00 pm-2:30 pm From this activity, volunteers will gain: Small group facilitation skills Student management skills Satisfaction of helping students in the community gain knowledge of the college and career pathway For any questions, concerns, or confirmations, please email team@promisescholars.net.
