Become a Pet Therapy Volunteer
Do you have a pet that everyone loves? When you take your dog for a walk, does every random stranger smile? Have you got a cat that loves to cuddle and melts the heart of anyone, any time of day? You might have a therapy pet and not even know it. Therapy animals are an incredibly powerful and simple way to help our hospice patients and their families during a difficult time. From our pediatric units to our elder care facilities, a tail wagging interruption goes a long way in bringing some unexpected joy and relief. The Elizabeth Hospice is looking for pet therapy animals to join our volunteer team. Being a pet therapy volunteer is very rewarding. Not only are you spreading the unconditional love of our furry friends to patients who are missing their pets, you are getting to share the love you have for your special animal. If you have a cat, dog, or rabbit that you feel would make a good therapy animal, we can help facilitate the process of getting your animal trained and licensed. Reach out to Claytie Mason (760.705.6736, volunteer@ehospice.org) for more information.
