ACT for Women and Girls

notIndicated
Due Date: 2025-07-03T21:00:00.000Z
For building power through leadership development, community organizing, advocacy, and policy change in our communities. ACT began from a Listening Session in Visalia hosted by the Women's Foundation of California in February 2003. Women from diverse backgrounds came together to discuss issues that mattered to them. In conclusion for the session, the women found that Visalia did not have enough resources to help promote positive change to all the people occupying the area. ACT began as a grassroots effort to examine the needs of rural communities. The Feminist Leadership Academy was created in 2005 to provide leadership opportunities to young people through an intersectional lens. As years have passed by, ACT has established itself as a youth organizing reproductive justice organization working on issues in the Central Valley, state and nation. Volunteer ACT volunteers contribute for a long period of time (years) or short term depending on their availability. Volunteer positions are unpaid, but they are valuable for building a resume and for gaining experience. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to apply. If you want to apply as a volunteer, please, go to page https://www.actforwomenandgirls.org/about/get-involved/ Our website is https://www.actforwomenandgirls.org/, contact phone is 559-738-8037
