Heroes Needed!
Are you ready to be a hero? Assistance League of Pomona Valley is looking for new members and volunteers to help children and families in the Pomona Valley community. There are over 3,500 children in Pomona alone who are homeless. The number of children and their families who need our services is increasing daily. ALPV, a local chapter of National Assistance League(r), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organization that has been serving our community since 1946. Our chapter provides the following assistance: Operation School Bell(r) provides new clothing to school age children. Many children have worn out and ill-fitting clothing, which negatively impacts their attendance and participation in school. Equipping them with clothing boosts their confidence and increases their participation. Over 1,600 children received socks, underwear, pants, shirts, and jackets in 2022/23 school year. Assault Survivor Kits(r) provides new clothing, toiletries, and other items to women and children who were victims of assault. Kits are assembled by members of ALPV and distributed by Project Sister. These philanthropic programs are offered at no cost to low-income families in our community, and are funded through our annual fundraising events, grants and community support! If you'd like to be part of this wonderful and dedicated organization, please contact us today!
