Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Sierra

We work to build and maintain one-to-one mentoring relationships that inspire youth to achieve their greatest potential. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we recognize that "small moments can bring great happiness" to a child's life! Research highlights the powerful and lasting effects of mentoring: our Littles are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to experiment with illegal drugs, and are more likely to get along with their families and peers. Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable activities you can engage in. Just a few hours a few times a month as a mentor can make a BIG impact in a child's life. How It Works: Depending on your program, you may meet your Little in the community, connect via ZOOM, or through one of our site-based programs. Littles come from all kinds of backgrounds, some as young as six, others are teenagers. They may live nearby or a few miles away, but they all share a common need: you!
