Pacifica Land Trust

To preserve, protect and enhance the natural, scenic, recreational, cultural, historic and open space environment including waterways and wildlife corridors of Pacifica and the surrounding community for present and future generations. To further this purpose, the Pacifica Land Trust will: Acquire by donation or purchase, land, easements, or other conservation mechanisms, for public benefit Encourage public awareness of the values of conservation and open space Coordinate with the Pacifica Open Space and Parkland Advisory Committee to implement the Open Space Task Force Report Educate citizens to respect and value open space Encourage economically viable community development in accord with the mission of the land trust Pedro Point Headlands Stewardship Program The Pedro Point Headlands stewardship program is a volunteer initiative to preserve and restore this priceless open space. It is overseen by the Pacifica Land Trust in partnership with the Pedro Point Community Association and made possible by a stewardship grant from the California Coastal Conservancy. Come to the beautiful Pedro Point Headlands, for the Pacific Land Trust Stewards workday on the fourth Saturday of each month, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Pacific Land Trust Stewards are pleasantly surprised by how good they feel, both physically, and mentally, after spending the day working with great people in a beautiful setting on such worthwhile land stewardship and trail maintenance projects. Steve Diers, our Stewardship Coordinator, will lead us as we will be pruning back vegetation on each water bar to where it daylights into the brush and pulling invasive plants or planting native plants.
